Riga Residency is a star-class hotel located at Wellington, 6000 feet above sea level atop The Nilgiris or Blue Mountains - the oldest and highest mountain range in India, after the Himalayas. Wellington boasts of a climate both un-spoilt and fresh.

Perched on a hill-top, every room at the Riga Residency offers you spectacular views of the surrounding hills and valleys through full-length bay-windows (Picture to right) . The highlight of the view is the UNESCO World Heritage Nilgiris Mountain Railway (NMR) winding its way through the verdant Wellington valley. This train is a marvel of engineering that is over a century old and our guests can watch it chugging back and forth every hour from the comfort of their rooms.

Riga Residency's unique location between Ooty and Coonoor in the town of Wellington was chosen to maintain the fine balance between quiet green surroundings and accessibility.  We understand that our guests enjoy staying in the lap of nature but would not want an un-necessarily long drive to sight see, shop or to reach the nearest train /bus station.

The Tycoon Restaurant Multi-Cuisine Restaurant serving Authentic North-Indian, South-Indian, Tandoori, Chinese, Continental, Barbecue & Grill Cuisine. Specialist Chefs for each Cuisine. Choice of Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian. The restaurant offers diners views of the Wellington valley and the hotel's lawn and gardens.

The Opium Bar offers premium liquors, cocktails and mock tails in a cozy ambience. Teetotalers, welcome! The woodwork interiors, LCD TV with Home Theatre System and a balcony that spans the length of the hotel make for an ideal ambience in which to unwind.

Bonfires & Lawn Parties: A major attraction at Riga Residency is the bonfire that we offer guests on request. A visit to the hills is incomplete without a cozy evening sitting by a crackling log-fire.

Conferencing & Banqueting Facilities: We offer banquet halls equipped with the best of audio-visual, lighting, communication and power backup equipment. The Riga Residency is the best place to host your next seminar or conference.

Block Booking & Corporate Guest Home Packages: We customise competitive packages for large parties and block bookings with / without food and beverages included. Trekking & Nature Walks: Trekking, for those who like to go off the beaten track. For the less adventurous the hotel's green surroundings are ideal for long/short walks. There is also a paved walking-path al the way to the famous War Memorial (as seen in the movie Roja). A nearby lake attracts many birds and birdwatching is a popular pass time.
